Our Workplaces - GFirst LEP

GFirst LEP is the Local Enterprise Partnership for Gloucestershire, and was set up by central government in 2011 to create opportunities for thousands of people across the county. With only a small number of direct employees they strive to lead by example providing a flexible and healthy workplace culture for their team.

They joined the Healthy Workplace award scheme as they wanted to support employees to take a healthier approach during the working day using practical steps. The boost to staff morale is just one of the positive outcomes.

'During the pandemic we put a lot of effort into communications, it was really important that staff still felt part of a team and had regular interaction with colleagues and managers

We worked with staff to ensure everyone could make their views heard with regards to returning to the office.  As a result we are offering a very flexible approach, letting staff decide what works best for them

We were conscious of making sure staff were getting away from their desks at lunchtime and provided an extended lunch period to encourage everyone to exercise outdoors.'
