University of Gloucestershire is proud to have received a Healthy Workplaces Gloucestershire Award in recognition of its commitment to creating and maintaining practices that support the health and wellbeing of its employees.

The University achieved Foundation Level Accreditation at the inaugural Healthy Workplaces Gloucestershire celebration held at the Growth Hub on its Oxstalls campus in Gloucester.

Before achieving the award, organisations are assessed through a series of online standards and commitments in a range of health areas from healthy eating to personal safety. 

The award is the Gloucestershire Public Health version of the Public Health England Wellbeing Award Charter, which the University achieved two years ago.

Virginia McCririck, Head of HR Business Partnering at the University, said: “We continue to work with Gloucestershire Public Health to seek further improvement in our approach to ensuring the wellbeing of our staff. 

“We are part of a county-wide network of local employers which provides us with a benchmark of good practice as well as excellent resources to promote to staff.   

“We will continue to work to improve the working environment and extend the range of resources for the benefit of all of our staff, which include our dedicated Health and Wellbeing pages, as we progress towards the next level of the award.”
